Other USA Theme Parks
The USA has so many theme parks. We would like to do them all but, being based in the UK, that is pretty tricky. That's not going to stop us trying though! Here we give our views on some of the smaller parks, or those with less top quality rides.
Knott's Berry Farm (California)
Knott's Berry Farm is a very well-know theme park and has a high annual attendance. We were a bit undecided about whether Knott’s deserves its own page with separate reviews. It’s a decent park with some good rides. Chief amongst them are Xcellerator – a launched coaster which combines the typical top hat with a number of other features – and Silver Bullet – a good hanging coaster. There are some other enjoyable rides, but we were disappointed with their newest coaster Hang Time, which is probably why we decided not to give Knott’s a full page. Whilst we enjoyed the majority of the ride, the beginning where you hang for a number of seconds before the drop just felt uncomfortable.
If you’re in the LA area and have enough time on your hands then it’s worth visiting for a day. But it’s not in the same league as the other parks in the area for thrills or fun.

Six Flags New England
We were excited to go to Six Flags New England, largely because Superman: The Ride is consistently rated as one of the best roller coasters in the World. So it was really disappointing to find it quite jerky and uncomfortable, and with harnesses that pressed so hard the legs that Joe worried they were going to snap his bones in half. There isn't much else at the park to make it worth the trip. The Joker is a good 4D coaster, but basically the same as can be found at other, much better, Six Flags parks.
Here at Thompson's Theme Park Tips we rate Six Flags very highly. But unfortunately this park isn't up to the high standards they show elsewhere. We travelled over two hours from Boston to get to this park, and it definitely wasn't worth the trip. Maybe if you're in the local area anyway it won't feel like quite such as a waste of time.
